Flourishing Communities: Fenchurch St x Northcote School

Northcote school, over the road from our Fenchurch St development, recently received their new basketball hoops and we couldnā€™t be prouder of the great mahi put in by our Site Manager Matt Dunn and his team and our build partners SES Contracting, Allied Concrete and Locate Services.

Tendy Cooper ā€“ Apprentice of the Year, Top 10 Finalist!

We could not be prouder of our very own Tendy Cooper, who stands proudly as one of the distinguished female trailblazers, securing her place as a top ten finalist for the esteemed Apprentice of the Year Award, an initiative presented by Registered Master Builders in collaboration with CARTERS.

Reflections on Homeā€™s trip to Samoa as part of the Habitat for Humanity ā€“ Global Village program.

Last month, a small group of Home employees and build partners, visited the Samoan island of Savaiā€™i to help build a community evacuation centre. As you can imagine, the trip was a memorable mix of Pacific beauty and hospitality and hard graft and sweat. Jessica Cooper was one of our team and has written a personal account of her experience and gives some open insights into what itā€™s like to practically serve in another country.

Raising the bar for housing

We're very proud to announce that The Residences at KaramÅ«, was awarded Excellence and Best in Category for the Kāinga Ora ā€“ Homes and Communities 'Community and Affordable Housing Property Award'. Property Council Chief Executive Leonie Freeman said, ā€œHousing in New Zealand is in crisis, but this project proves that a developer that is passionate about their purpose, and who works in partnership with key organisations can truly make a difference to those in need. The result is a sophisticated, scalable model that will continue to evolve and serve its community over time."

Home gets a new apprentice through the Gateway Funding Programme

The Gateway funding programme is designed to support High School studentsā€™ transition into the workforce by offering them workplace learning while at secondary school. In line with this initiative, Home Construction has been lucky enough to team up with Mairehau High School, in partnership with Kāinga Ora to participate in the programme and give one of their students the opportunity to take part in work experience with our internal carpentry team.
